Children’s Privacy Notice

The Typing Cat (thetypingcat.com) teaches typing. Contact us at info@thetypingcat.com about anything in this notice.

The child has no email address, password, photograph, location or contact details with us, and cannot message anyone. The child uses your session, so we do not record their IP address separately.

Only to provide the lessons to you and your child. We do not show children adverts, send them marketing, record their sessions, load third-party analytics on their pages, list them publicly, or use their information to train AI models. We never sell it.

The service providers that store and run the site for us (Supabase for the database, Vercel for hosting, Sentry for error reports) process it only on our behalf; see the subprocessors page. We share it with no one else, so there is no separate consent to give for third parties.

On a paid Family plan, the card payment confirms that an adult is consenting when you add the child. Otherwise we email your account’s address this notice and a link: the child account is created only when you click it, and we email you again a day later to confirm, with how to withdraw. No child account exists until consent is recorded.

• See everything your child has done from your parent dashboard.
• Change or correct their name, birth year and avatar at any time.
• Delete the child, which erases their information from our live systems at once and cannot be undone; backup copies expire on our database provider’s schedule.
• Withdraw consent, which deletes the child.
• Ask us at info@thetypingcat.com for a copy of what we hold.

If your child uses The Typing Cat through their school, the school consents for you and controls the data. See the Student Data Privacy Notice, and contact the school about your child’s records.
